November News & Updates

November 2024

President's Message:

My message is going to be brief. I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and hope this time with family & friends lets us all take this time to appreciate how fortunate we are to live in a community that provides so much support and partnership with our schools. Thank you all who donate, volunteer, support our students each and every day. We are thankful for you!

We have a couple of important events coming up that I would like you all to support. First, we have "Giving Tuesday" on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Please think about donating to AEF for our Outdoor Science Camp, Spark of Love or our Reading Is Fundamental program. We all volunteer to ensure we are able to support our students & teachers throughout all of AUSD schools. You may make a donation through our web page www.aef4kids.com

I am so excited that my Alma Mater San Gabriel HS Varsity Football will be playing this Saturday at 7:00pm for the Division 14 Championship. If you are not busy Saturday, SG will be playing Pioneer at Pioneer High School in Whittier.

A BIG shout out to our very own Superintendent Denise Jaramillo for being named as Los Angeles County Superintendent of the Year! Denise is a product of AUSD and had worked in the district for over 39 years. I had the privilege to be part of the surprise announcement back in October. Congratulations Denise!

Enjoy this time with your family and we will see you when you return from Thanksgiving break!

Thank you for your continued support!

Pumpkin Run

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every person who participated, sponsored, organized, or volunteered for the Pumpkin Run. Your unwavering support played a crucial role in turning this event into a truly spectacular and unforgettable experience! Together, we are not only strengthening our community but also creating a meaningful and lasting impact that will resonate for years to come. Thank you for making a difference!

READING IS FUNDAMENTAL (RIF)

Through a successful partnership with RIF, AEF has distributed over 68,000 books through the Dr. LaVonne Wood Literacy Fund since 2005. This initiative has profoundly enriched the lives of AUSD's TK-3rd-grade students. By providing children with ownership of their books, we empower them to read more and foster a vibrant community dedicated to literacy.

Please consider supporting the Dr. LaVonne Wood Literacy Fund with a tax-deductible monetary donation.
