President’s Message

October 2024 President's Message: September and October have been very busy for AEF and the Board of Directors. We participated in many community events in Alhambra and Monterey Park while working with the District on upcoming events and celebrations. We had our annual Shopping Extravaganza at The Citadel where many of our AUSD staff, parents and volunteers enjoyed a day of shopping, lunch and winning many raffle prizes. We thank everyone who attended and supported The Citadel and AEF! AEF was able to partner with the City of Monterey Park for the Electric Park Concert at Barnes Park on October 5th. It was a very electrifying evening with many attendees enjoying the craft fair, food trucks and an evening of music and fun. We thank the City and Parks & Recreation Director, Robert Aguirre, for allowing AEF to be a partner for the evening. Ynez Fall Festival AEF participated at the Ynez School Dia de los Muertos Festival last week. We had a "spin" wheel where students won prizes and school supplies. There is still time to sign up for the Pumpkin Run on Sunday, October 27th. Use the code AEF24 for a discount of $5.00. AEF will be manning the Bag Check and Refreshment area before and after the run. Come out and enjoy a fun family morning. The annual "Spark of Love" Toy Drive will begin November 1st. AEF will partner with our local Alhambra Firefighters Association, Alhambra USD and the City of Alhambra to bring joy and cheer to kids this Christmas holiday.
