Summer vacation is coming to a close for AUSD students with school starting on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. I hope all of our families had a relaxing summer and are ready for the next school year in your child's educational journey.
We finished summer school with over 900 students enrolled in our elementary and high school programs. Each and every year, we receive positive feedback from our parents, staff and especially from our students who had a fantastic time attending our academies. All of us at AEF appreciate the trust you place in our programs as you choose to send your children each and every summer.
We have several upcoming events that we would like you to support in September and October. First, the Citadel Shopping Extravaganza in Commerce, CA will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 9:00am - 9:00pm. It is a fun filled day of shopping with exclusive discounts from many retailers throughout the Citadel. AEF receives $25 for every ticket sold when you select AEF as your non-profit when purchasing your tickets. We also receive a percentage of all extra raffle tickets purchased if we have sold 100+ tickets and 100+ AEF supporters check in. You get lunch, raffle tickets and wine tasting along with a fun shopping experience with friends or co-workers. It is never too early to start your Christmas shopping with great discounts. On October 27, 2024, AEF will once again be the primary benefactor for the upcoming 11th Annual Pumpkin Run. This event grows every year and sold out last year with 2,500 total participants. We cannot thank enough the Downtown Alhambra Association, Ohana Brewery, and the City of Alhambra for hosting and supporting this fun event. Please register early as an individual runner or form a team and run the 10K or walk/run the 5K. There will also be a 1K & kiddie run for the little ones to participate in along with a costume contest for all ages and a Kids Zone. See the link below to register!
